Work Setting

Optometrists usually work in nice places for most of their day. They usually work in their own offices that are clean, well lighted, and comfortable for around forty hours per week. To suit the needs of patients, many work evening and weekends (Bureau of Labor Statistics). Optometrists who are self-employed have considerable flexibility in setting their hours of work. They may even continue to practice after the normal retirement age (Optometrists). Optometrists need things in their work environment to care for patients.
